Ologeez was founded by Jason Hoyt, Ph.D. while he was a graduate student at Stanford University.

In March of 2009, Jason joined Mendeley, a social reference manager, as Research Director overseeing product development, grant writing, day-to-day management of the engineering team, and general growth of the company.
